The Knights of Middle England go to schools/colleges to give lectures and demonstrations to pupils of all ages.
The students are shown how the knights used to practice their skills for the joust and are taught about the armour, the horses and how some of the equipment was used. We cover the history of jousting and the background to a Medieval Jousting Tournament.
The lectures and demonstrations focus on involving the students and interacting with them to keep them fully engaged and interested and to make it fun and entertaining as well as very educational and informative.
The students can be taught how to sword fight (optional) with mock swords. This is a great way to involve the students and nurture their interest in medieval history.
We can also arrange for the students to have a go at falconry and longbow archery.
The day can finish with a spectacular jousting display from The Knights of Middle England. The jousting display will be very heavily themed for schools and will involve a great deal of audience participation, for example, we will use members of the audience in the Show as squires and get the school/college to split into two sides to cheer the opposing knights on.
This action-packed, fast and furious Show will surely make it a day to remember for all students, staff and parents.
